Elaina and Josh are one of the goofiest and sweetest couples that I have had the honor of meeting. They have fun together, they get each other, they support each other. Just seeing the way they smile at each other when they got to finally see one another at the huppah was the happiest moment.
Elaina and Josh did not have the smoothest experience wedding planning. Unfortunately, 3 days before their original wedding date, Elaina tested positive for covid. Everything that they had worked so hard to plan was immediately a stress-induced postponement. Guests had already flew in from other states, waiting to be able to witness their wedding ceremony. Thankfully, Horning’s Hideout did still have a spot open soon after – June 19th.
So, they got to replanning: finding new vendors, switching ceremony locations at the venue, recollecting their decor and making sure that everything was still going to work. And they did it. June 19th came and they finally got to have their wedding ceremony and reception. Although the guest list was smaller due to people not being able to make it, the love was still very abundant and clear.
Getting to the venue, Horning’s Hideout, is a gorgeous experience from the start. There is nothing like driving through a windy road with greenery encompassing you on both sides. It’s gorgeous and peaceful. On the drive, you see peacocks, beautiful plants and trees, children running and laughing by the lake – it’s a gorgeous spring afternoon rolled up in one picture.
Also, can we talk about the bride and groom’s attire for a second – Josh’s suit – VELVET. – GREEN. VELVET. I was (let’s be honest – still am) obsessed with this. His suit literally perfectly matched his energy and vibe. Elaina’s dress – elegant beauty: sun-shaped earrings and hair clip, gorgeous pendant necklace. Her dress was an absolute dream with a gorgeous train. Although muddy by the end of the night, it didn’t stop them from having the best time and jumping in the mud puddles.
Elaina and Josh’s wedding vision came together BEAUTIFULLY. They thrifted all of their decor elements: frames, table runners, short stands. Although each one was different, it was amazingly and uniquely cohesive, and their rustic open bar matched the theme. Signature cocktails included vodka mojitos and orange whiskey sours with everything else you could imagine available.
One of my absolute favorite things from this wedding day was their pups that were able to be there with them: Woden and Pixel. Woden was making sure that everyone knew he was there throughout the reception, and Pixel did the same throughout the ceremony. They were so excited to see their humans and meet new ones. They even got to be included in the grand entrance with the wedding party. They truly were part of the day.
