Healdsburg, CA | S+A’s Villa Chanticleer Wedding

Samantha and Alfredo reached out to Daisy + Sun in August 2022 looking for a coordinator for their beautiful destination wedding. Samantha, Alfredo, and almost 60 other guests came all the way from Brooklyn, New York!

Once we hopped on a call, we instantly connected – if you know Katelynn, you know she is a major croc fan (seriously, major). Samantha and Alfredo were incorporating crocs INTO their wedding (WHAT?!!). It was all of her dreams come true. Anyways, their croc elements were some of the cutest and were so personalized to them as a couple. Daisy + Sun is an avid fan of couples doing their wedding the way they want to do it, and this couple had so many elements that tied their bubbly personalities into their day.

Let’s get into the ways they personalized and customized their wedding day, shall we?

The day started with the bride getting ready with her closest friends and family members. While they didn’t have a wedding party standing next to them at the arbor, this couple was nothing short of loved by all of the people surrounding them. 

We then arrived at the venue for set up – the vibes were a rustic touch with navy blue being their main color. The tables were set with napkins, glassware, plates, chargers, glassware, favors, beautiful centerpieces with 3 candles, and greenery with flowers. It was truly a beautiful monochrome table setting.

Once we got everything set up, it was almost time for the ceremony. 

First, the bride and her father, Luke, had their first look together. Luke had been adamant that he wasn’t going to cry, but as soon as he turned around and saw her, he was bursting into tears. It was a beautiful moment, and you could tell just how close Samantha and Alfredo were to their parents. It was so amazing to watch. 

Next, time for the ceremony!

The ceremony was a beautiful one, with our favorite part being the vows. Samantha and Alfredo’s vows were nothing short of perfection. They were sweet, thoughtful, pure, and filled with love and tears. It was one of my favorite vow readings I have ever had the privilege of hearing. 

Once the ceremony ended, Samantha and Alfredo went with their families for photos while everyone enjoyed the charcuterie table, passed appetizers, and tasty drinks. The weather was sunny and mid-70s, so it was definitely perfect (especially coming from New York!)

Finally – the reception!! 

They started off their reception with a grand entrance. First it was the parents, and then it was the bride and groom. Daisy + Sun hasn’t gotten the chance to see a parent grand entrance until this wedding, and it was a joy to see!

After their entrance with a little dancey-dance, Samantha and Alfredo enjoyed a family-style dinner with THE MOST delicious food any of us have ever tasted. The salad was easily the best salad we have ever had in my life, and when we travel back down for another wedding, there is no question we will be getting this exact salad. Not only was the food amazing, but the catering team was the best – if you’re in the San Francisco area, reach out to them: Chef Pete Coleman. During dinner, the couple’s closest people celebrated alongside the couple with champagne toasts. Once that was done, the couple moved onto their dances. First, they danced to Lights Down Low by Max.  They had a beautifully-choreographed dance to their song. It was the sweetest and one of the most special. 

One super special thing that Samantha and Alfredo did was instead of a bouquet/garter toss, the couple decided to throw a stuffed bear (with baby crocs on, of course) to their guests. The couple donated to a charity in the person who caught the bear’s name. It was super cool to see something that all of the guests could participate in instead of just the single ladies!
