So many brides wonder, “Do I need a seating chart at my wedding?” – yes. Yes, you need a seating chart. It doesn’t need to be assigned seating. An easier option is to just assign tables.
Let’s chat about some of the reasons you need a seating chart, as well as some of the bonuses of having one at your wedding or event.
There are so many guests who actually prefer a seating chart. It makes things simple. Your guests don’t have to move throughout the reception space looking for an empty table or looking for people they want to sit with. You’ll also fill in more seats and make things look less spaced out. It can be anxiety-inducing for your guests.
It really does! When you don’t have a seating chart, you have to have extra tables. Most guests won’t fill up a table to sit with people they don’t know. This means providing a few extra tables to make sure that everyone has a seat. This means more rentals, more decor, more flowers, more chairs, more clean-up, etc!
You can always place reserved signs on a few tables. However, many people won’t see them or will just ignore them. It’s so nice to be able to set up your tables so your closest family and friends have a spot close to you. When you’re looking out at your guests on your wedding day, you probably want to see people most important to you.
