Final venue walkthroughs are so important. This is where you completely finalize your layout, where you think about photo locations, and where you have one of your last major contact sessions with your venue. It’s important to come ready with a list of questions so you aren’t missing anything. Daisy + Sun Events is here to provide you with that list.
This is a must-know. Hopefully you will have determined this prior to booking, but it’s important to confirm. This determines when you can get makeup started or if you have to book an airbnb or hotel; it determines when your vendors can set up; and it determines when you need to have everything torn down and everybody out.
Typically, this is about 30 minutes before the ceremony begins. Some venues have caps on the earliest that they can arrive. If they do, it’s also important to ask what the venue prefers if guests arrive before the determined time.
This is where your planner will go over the timeline with the venue. It is also important to discuss the flow of locations of things. Consider asking your venue where other couples usually put things to optimize the layout flow. You definitely don’t want the ceremony to be in one spot, the cocktail hour a mile away, and then the reception back at the ceremony spot.
Vendors need a room or small space to put their equipment. Photographers have extra cameras, videographers have tripods, planners have carts and emergency kits, etc.
Confirm what the venue provides. If you guys talked about them providing chairs, make sure that’s actually happening and there is a plan. Confirm what the venue sets up and what others need to be responsible for.
