Do I need a wedding registry?
You might be wondering if you need a wedding registry. Maybe you are thinking of doing a honeymoon fund registry, maybe you’re not wanting a registry at all, or maybe you’re confused on the point of a registry.
Honeymoon Fund Registries
Honeymoon fund registries are typically registries where your guests place a donation of money (either online or in cash) towards your honeymoon. Many couples believe that doing just the honeymoon fund is enough, but truth is, a lot of your guests will want more options! If you don’t give them options of physical items that you want, some of them will still get you physical items. These gifts just might be random things you don’t want or need.
No registry at all
This isn’t the worst thing you could do. Some people put something on their website or invitations that they are just wanting your presence in lieu of a gift. People will most likely still get you gifts. While most people will provide cash and a card, some will still get you those random gift items. However, if you’re not picky and aren’t wanting a registry at all, this shouldn’t be a big deal.
Other types of registries
There are so many different kinds of registries that we’ve seen over the past few months. We’ve seen house funds, kid funds, house remodel funds, etc. Some of your older guests might think that registries that are not the “normal” ones can come off as tacky, but we still encourage you to do what YOU want to do.

Registries were created as a way to express best wishes to a couple and have them start a happy life together. At first, they were more gender-based. People would be picking out china and silverware for the bride, since she was generally the home-maker. However, registries now have turned into a bigger array of things.
