Katy and Tanor met in Spanish class at their high school in Redmond, Oregon in 2011. Katy was one year older than him, and at the time, not interested in dating a younger man. They did end up becoming friends, but drifted apart in 2014 when Katy moved to Corvallis to attend OSU and Tanor enlisted in the Navy for 4 years. While they kept in touch throughout the time, it wasn’t until 2019 where they reconnected when Katy was visiting Central Oregon. They began a long-distance relationship until Katy moved back to Central Oregon in 2021. They now live together with their 2 pups and a cat!
Katy reached out to me in early 2023 to help coordinate her August 2023 wedding at Long Hollow Ranch, and I was instantly excited. Not only did Katy introduce me to my now-favorite coffee shop (Lone Pine Coffee Roasters), but I was also so excited by her theme, colors, and vibe when she first met with me. She was all about the subtle boho vibes, with her main colors being burnt orange, pink, and gold. She even did the new trend of different bridesmaid dress colors and textures. It was absolutely gorgeous!
Now, onto the actual wedding day!
Katy and Tanor had one of the best vendor teams – everybody worked as a true team and made the day so smooth. It always makes our jobs easier when we have a good vendor team, and we are so grateful for each vendor that was part of their day. If you’re looking for anybody for your Central Oregon Long Hollow Ranch wedding, we highly suggest each person on this list!
Once we arrived, we were ready to get going – we finished some of the set up pieces, checked in with the bride and groom, and made sure everything was running smooth. Katy and Tanor were both so relaxed on their day – they trusted Daisy + Sun, as well as all of their vendors, to make sure the day went well. We are so happy when our couples put their trust in us completely. We truly want our couples to feel like guests at their own wedding.
The events began with an intimate gift exchange between the bride and groom. They opened their gifts separately, which is an amazing way to feel connected to your partner, even when you aren’t seeing them until later.
Once Katy got dressed and ready to go, it was time for the first look with her father. First looks between the bride and her father are always some of our favorite moments!
Next up – first look between bride and groom.
We sadly didn’t get to witness this event, but we know that it was an amazing moment just by the photos. Katy and Tanor have such a deep love for each other that is so visible in any moment, so we know it was full-throttle during that moment.
After their first look, Katy and Tanor wanted to get as many photos out of the way as they could. They took some portraits together, did some wedding party photos, and then relaxed a bit before the big ceremony moments.
Speaking of ceremony, Katy and Tanor incorporated such fun elements throughout their ceremony, especially during the walking order.
While they did some of the traditional elements of their walking order, such as family walking, wedding party, etc. – they also had individual songs for the ring bearer and for the flower girl. The ring bearer was known as “ring security”, so they made the best decision in having him walk down to Thunderstruck by AC/DC. This was a HUGE crowd-pleaser and definitely enhanced the mood for this fun couple. The flower girl got to walk down to First date by Taylor Acorn, a soft and romantic song perfect to loop into Katy’s song – Wildflowers by Tom Petty.
After a quick ceremony, Katy and Tanor were ready to party. They started their cocktail hour with a quick round of family photos, and went onto a video session with their videographer, complete with a shot with their siblings. This little photo and video session had a major focus on a family member’s mustang – they had been waiting for a few months to see if it was going to be ready on their big day, and thankfully it was!
They even incorporated the car into their grand entrance into the reception. Of course, they were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. to none other than The Office Theme Song. They started off their reception with a thank you speech and moved into their formal dances, which were so, so sweet to witness.
Next up – dinner.
We enjoyed a delicious taco bar dinner from Cody’s Country Catering complete with a 2-meat taco station, veggies, salad, and chips with different salsas.
After eating, the bride and groom were pulled away for a few short moments to take sunset photos – thankfully the smoke wasn’t too bad in the first part of the day, but it did roll in around dinner time. Before losing too much light, Bryndle and Lauren made the amazing decision to take the light they could get for these very important photos! Sunset shots are so important for your wedding gallery, memories, and for romantic moments in your video.
Once bride and groom returned, we went straight into the toasts. Each toaster was amazing – we heard some super fun stories. From Katy taking a beer bong with a hotdog in it to Tanor constantly bringing leftovers to one of his groomsman (whom at the time, he didn’t know too well), we loved hearing these stories.
Next up – dessert and dancing.
The bride and groom cut their cake and then had a whole dessert table set up for their guests. They had cupcakes, cookies, lemon bars, and more! It was such a fun (and delicious) piece of the reception.
While guests started dancing on the dance floor, Chris Ossig kept the party alive with the different music throwback choices. We were even dancing in the background (;
Katy had the genius idea to provide heart-shaped sunglasses and foam glow sticks which kept the dance floor fun and lively! We loved watching everybody get a dance in with the bride and groom as well as just general bs-ing with their guest list. Katy and Tanor kept dancing going until 11pm, while bringing in all of their lawn games into the barn for an after-party complete with cornhole and more drinks!
Daisy + Sun absolutely loved being part of this day, and we are so grateful for Katy and Tanor, as well as their friends and family.
