Stop hiring wedding vendors that aren’t licensed or insured

Okay I’m going to say it: STOP hiring wedding vendors that aren’t licensed or insured. It’s unsafe for you, your wedding, and honestly, your sanity.

The main reason that people hire unlicensed and uninsured vendors is because they think they’re getting a major deal. Sure, you’re paying less money for these vendors, but you’re not getting the full experience, and these vendors, and yourself, aren’t protected in the event that something happens.

Vendors that are unlicensed and uninsured typically have little to no experience, don’t typically know what they’re doing or all that it entails, and are being irresponsible. ALWAYS ask vendors if they are licensed and insured, and make sure to look it up on your state’s secretary. It’s simple to do a search, and not simple to have to use your event insurance to make a claim against a vendor. Vendors that are unlicensed or uninsured are not pros, and we need to stop giving them money.

And vendors – it’s not that hard to get licensed and insured. If you have to do the schooling, just do it. If you have to pay a couple hundred bucks, just do it. Without licensure and insurance, you’re putting these couple’s days at risk, and your personal livelihood at risk.
